Master Point FAQ - the Answers

What about Direct Credits ?

What is a Direct Credit?

"Direct Credits" are awards which are entered onto a member's record directly, without a certificate being produced. They can originate from EBU competitions, some County Associations , other bridge unions such as the WBU or the SBU and some local clubs. Your club or County will advise you if they process awards in this way.

How do I claim my Direct Credits?

Any awards received in this way will be automatically credited to your record; you do not have to "claim" them to receive them

When are Direct Credits processed?

"Direct Credits" can only be processed when received from the organising body by the EBU Master Point department:

EBU competitions About 4 weeks after the end of the competition.
Knock-out competitions, e.g. NICKO or Crockfords When the final has been played.
County Associations Some counties only advise the EBU of such awards on a yearly basis, usually in January, for the whole of the previous Master Point year.

How can I check that my Direct Credits have been processed?

You can check your points on line (you will need your EBU number to be able to do this), and you can then see if your Credits have been processed.

What should I do if I do not appear to have been credited correctly?

If you are concerned about "Direct Credits" that you feel should have been awarded by now but have not been, or if you think awards given are incorrect, you should contact the issuing body and ask them to investigate it for you.
