Q. What will be the benefits of club affiliation to the EBU under the new proposals?

An affiliated club will be entitled to the following:

  • Discounted Public Liability Insurance which can save between £250 and £500 with our special deal with Osbornes - currently under re-negotiation to ensure that our clubs benefit from the best package.
  • A hosted website - worth £70 per annum
  • Scoring software - worth £40
  • 6 issues of English Bridge each year
  • An EBU Diary
  • Discounted stationery and books
  • Discounted equipment - tables, bidding boxes, cloths
  • An online club session in its own online club room each week for every member of the club
  • An electronic newsletter for clubs and their members with letters, quizzes and club event information
  • Computer generated deals and hand records
  • Advice on any aspects of club management
  • Advice on any aspects of tournament direction
  • Advice on EBU education and teaching programmes including learn and play sections and partner sections.
  • Advice on implementing Best Behaviour at Bridge
  • Advice on promotion of club activities

  • Entry to the National Inter Club Knockout
  • Entry to County Club Competitions

 

Club members will be entitled to the following

  • Rating system showing a member’s club, county and national rating after every game
  • Master points scheme to measure a member’s lifetime achievement
  • 6 issues of English Bridge each year
  • An EBU Diary
  • The opportunity to participate in County and National Tournaments

 

The EBU is committed to helping clubs gain more members through attractive services and support - and more members playing will mean lower pay to play fees
