Daniel Winter

Daniel was born in 2000 and works in management consultancy and lives in London. He graduated from Cambridge University in Natural Sciences with a combined BA/MA (where he held a scholarship and got a triple first with a university prize for the best original research) in 2022. His parents, Richard Winter and Sarah Teshome, have both played numerous times for England.

He was part of the inaugural England Under 16 team, and a member of the first England U16 team to play in the European Championships, in 2015, where they finished in an excellent fourth place. He was then part of two U21 teams who won a bronze medal at the 2017 European Youth Team Championships and a bronze medal at the 2019 European Youth Team Championships. Two bronze medals but still chasing gold.

Playing with Ben Norton, Daniel won the Open Pairs at the 2016 Year End Congress, and he was also part of the winning team at the 2016 Scarborough Summer Congress. Daniel won the Portland Bowl in 2020. He’s played for Yorkshire in the Tolly.

In his spare time, and with his current job, he doesn’t have much spare time, he enjoys going to the gym, spending time with his girlfriend and family, and supporting Leeds United.
