Helen started playing bridge at the ripe old age of 30 having been bribed into taking up the game by her father. She has had some success playing in mixed events with her husband Espen Erichsen. They won the Open European Mixed Teams in 2005 and were 4th in the same event in 2013. They live in Tunbridge Wells with their two daughters.

Helen partnered Fiona Brown in the 2016 Lady Milne, and they also won the 2016 Great Northern Swiss Pairs.
