The event will incorporate the Seniors Congress and the Really Easy Congress designed for beginners or less experienced players. A smart casual dress code, which may include shorts, applies for both afternoons and evenings at the event. The first weekend features the Swiss Pairs championship for the Harold Poster Cup, a four-session event with a total of 14 eight-board matches. You can wind down on Sunday evening in an Open Pairs or Open Teams (free entry to Swiss Pairs players). Mid-week there is a wide variety of competitions available, including a "Play with the Experts"pairs, a Mixed Pivot Teams, and a Mixed Pairs (now all Green Point events). Open Pairs is available every afternoon (subject to demand). The tournament is now a level 4 event, although in the midweek Seniors Congress any system/convention permitted by equivalent European Bridge League regulations will also be allowed. Senior event players must have been born in or before 1951. The second weekend features the Four Stars Swiss Teams championship. After three sessions totalling 10 eight-board matches, the leading eight teams contest the Four Stars "A" final and the next eight the Four Stars "B" final, both finals consisting of seven eight-board matches over two sessions. The remainder of the field play one further session with four eight-board matches for the Brighton Bowl. The Friday afternoon Open Pairs is also available free of charge to all Swiss Teams players (1.00 pm start).
