The EBU Brighton Congress

The Really Easy Congress

Event A - Novices and Students: 13th -15th August 2012
Event B - Next Step: 14th - 16th August 2012

The summer congress is split into two events. Novices and students play sessions of 15 to 21 boards from Monday to Wednesday and will be expected to play a basic Acol system. The Next Step event runs from Tuesday to Thursday and players will have been playing in a local club and want to try out an EBU congress event. Sessions will be about 21-24 boards.

This event is an ideal way for all bridge students to sample the atmosphere of the Brighton Summer Meeting.  Those who have been learning through the Bridge for All scheme or with other teaching programmes will be most welcome.

For the second time this event will be split into two congresses, with novice players and students playing from Monday to Wednesday and those wanting a more challenging event playing from Tuesday to Thursday.  This is an ideal way to sample the atmosphere of the Brighton Summer Meeting.

For the Novices and students event, those who have been learning through the Bridge for All scheme or with other teaching programmes will be most welcome. Congress participants will be expected to play Standard English Acol.

In the novice and student event, sessions of between 15 and 21 boards will be played. There will be instructional sessions on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.

Players with more experience and playing in local club but have not tried a county or EBU congress event, should find the Next Step more to their taste. The emphasis is on having fun in a relaxed environment. Next Step players may play their familiar system. Here sessions will be about 21- 24 boards. On the last day, Thursday there will be a workshop in the morning with a short lunch break followed by duplicate bridge.
