Relaxed, popular congress held in Bournemouth over the three-day holiday. The Swiss Teams event on Bank Holiday Monday is flighted and suits a whole range of players from Club Master to Grand Master.

Saturday afternoon’s qualifying round of Championship Pairs is open to all, and will be scored across the field. Saturday evening’s semi-final
will bring forward scores from the qualifying round and will result in the leading 28 pairs overall going forward to an A-division final, and the next 28 pairs overall to a B-division final (with no carry-forward score in either case).

The Swiss Pairs is a three-session event with a total of ten 8-board matches. It starts on Saturday evening with those pairs who failed to qualify for the Championship Pairs semi-final together with new pairs entering the congress at this stage. Pairs who reach the Championship Pairs semi-final, but not the final, join the Swiss Pairs on Sunday afternoon with a carry-over score in lieu of the three matches played thus far.

The Swiss Teams event is now stratified. Stratification will be in 3-levels:

1. At least two members of the team are Life Masters or above,
2. At least two members of the team are Regional/National Masters (including Premier Regional/premier National) and no more than one member if a Life master or above. Alternatively, any team which contains precisely one life Master or above regardless of the rank of the other players.
3. No more than one player is the rank of regional/National Master (including Premier Regional/Premier National), amd om amy case no single player is a life Master or above.

Master Points

Sunday and Monday events are fully Green Pointed. Local Points are awarded in the Championship Pairs qualifying rounds (but all finalists are guaranteed a Green Point award) and in the Swiss Pairs event on Saturday evening (25 Local Points per match won/drawn – but 1⁄4 Green Point per win/draw on Sunday).
