At no time may an all-male or all-female team be playing.

Scoring is by aggregate with honours counting (see below). At no time may an all male or all female team be playing. Seeding has been introduced, so that every team entering is guaranteed at least one match before meeting a seed.

What are honours?

It's easy to forget that with the prevalance of duplicate bridge nowadays, people don't actually know how honours work! Honours are bonus points for being dealt the best cards.
In no-trumps - all four aces in one hand is worth 150 points.
In a suit contract - four of the A, K, Q, J or 10 (the top five honours) in one hand are worth 100 points. All five are worth 150 points.

You claim the points at the end of the hand and this privilege is not limited to just the declaring side - although if you're in a slam missing 100 honours you have more important things to worry about!
