National Pairs

Regional Finals: 12th March 2017. National Final: 8th – 9th April 2017

Since 2016 the National Pairs has a new structure without club heats and with an increased number of Regional Finals, open to all EBU members who wish to enter.

The Regional Finals will take place at several venues. These will be listed below when announced.

The National Final venue location is yet to be announced.

As in the past, the competition will culminate in a National Final contested by the top 50 pairs.

The event is also part of the Championship Series, in which points can be earned towards the Player of the Year Championship.

2017 Regional Finals

The Regional Finals will be held on Sunday 12th March 2017, starting at 1.00pm and ending at approximately 8.30pm. The venues will be divided into five regions for the purpose of awarding the regional winners’ trophies:

All venues will play the same boards and the event will be scored across the entire field. The top 50 pairs nationally will qualify to play in the National Final. Should any pair be unable to play in the National Final, their place will be taken by the next-ranked pair.

In addition a ranking list will be produced from each region (scored by itself), with the winning pairs being awarded the regional trophies.

2017 National Final

The National Final will be held on the weekend of 8th and 9th April 2017, starting at 1.00pm on the Saturday and finishing at approximately 5.30pm on the Sunday. The final is all-play-all with 49 two board rounds.

Parking
Parking is available at the hotel free of charge to residents. Non-residents can park in the NCP next-door (about 200 yards from the hotel entrance) for £5 if they obtain a sign from the hotel reception to display in their car window.
