Spring Bank Holiday Congress

26th – 28th May 2018, Crowne Plaza, Stratford, CV37 6YR

A relaxed congress held over the three-day holiday.

The Championship Pairs is a four-session event with a two-session qualifying round on the Saturday, leading to a pair of two-session 'all play-all' finals for the top forty pairs on Sunday. The non-qualifying players move in to the Swiss Pairs. Please note that the Swiss Pairs is now a one-day event on the Sunday.

The Swiss Teams event is stratified and suits a whole range of players from Club Master to Grand Master. Stratification will be in 3-levels:

Really Easy Afternoon
Saturday 26th May, at 2pm
A relaxed duplicate pairs event for those with less experience.
This event is aimed at those with no experience of green-point events, and such players are probably below the rank of Master and lower than a Jack on the NGS. They should be comfortable playing unassisted in a 'club' environment, and it is intended as an introduction to 'tournament bridge'.
The results will be stratified based on NGS grading with prizes for the overall winners, and Blue Points awarded based on the stratified results.

In addition the same hands will be played at other locations round the country, with the competition scored across all venues.

Venues will be posted here when known.

The event at each location will be open to all - EBU members and non-members alike. We may be able to accommodate individual players at the main venue (when confirmed), so please contact us and we will try to arrange a partner.

Holders - 2017

Championships Pairs - David Gold & Kevin Castner
Swiss Teams - Stephen Kennedy, Ben Norton, Michael Byrne, Andrew Murphy
Swiss Pairs - David Armstrong & Jill Armstrong
Really Easy Pairs - Vinaychandra Gandhi & Amarjeet Singh
