If you wish to enter one of the Year End Congresses, you can do so online over the Christmas period via www.ebu.co.uk/members. Entries for the Northern Year End Congress should ideally be made in advance, but if this is not possible, and you have to enter on the day, then please make your payment to the office staff in Aylesbury at the earliest opportunity (no money will be collected at the venue).
This congress is held between Christmas and New Year over four days.
The Royal National provides good playing conditions and accommodation packages at its sister hotel, the Imperial are available. Please see below for details.
The Swiss Teams and Swiss Pairs are both now stratified events.
Really Easy Afternoon.
Tuesday 27th December, at 3:30pm
A relaxed duplicate pairs event for those with less experience.
This event is aimed at those with no experience of green-point events, and such players are probably below the rank of Master and lower than a Jack on the NGS. They should be comfortable playing unassisted in a 'club' environment, and it is intended as an introduction to 'tournament bridge'.
The results will be stratified based on NGS grading with prizes for the overall winners, and Blue Points awarded based on the stratified results.
In addition the same hands will be played at other locations round the country, with the competition scored across all venues.

The event at each location will be open to all - EBU members and non-members alike. We may be able to accommodate individual players at the London venue, so please contact us and we will try to arrange a partner.

Master Points
All of the main congress events are fully Green Pointed. Blue points are awarded in the Really Easy Afternoon event.
Agreements
Level 4 agreements are permitted in all events, except the Really Easy Afternoon, which is level 2.

2016 rates
The Imperial Hotel (a sister hotel of the Royal National, 100 yards away) is offering a four night package rate based on single-bedded rooms at the rate of £276.00 per person. The three night package rate is £230 per person in single-bedded rooms.
The Package rates include:
- 3-4 nights Accommodation in single rooms at the Imperial Hotel
- English breakfast each morning
- Two three course meals (lunch and dinner) in any of the hotel restaurants within the group
- Free car parking space for 3-4 days in the underground hotel garage (whichever is appropriable)
- Welcome cocktail in the hotel bar on arrival
With regret the hotel will not be able of offer twin/double bedded rooms (at any of the hotels).
Those persons staying fewer than four nights or any additional nights, when booked in conjunction with the proposed packages, will be charged at the following rates:
