EBU - PartnerTeachers

What being a Partner with the EBU means

  • You will receive an unprecedented level of support from the EBU.
  • The EBU will provide you with a hosted website with a domain name of your own choosing and associated email address. You won’t have to be a website expert to use it. You will be able to upload all your own details including course details. Later on this will be club details, pictures and club news. It will come with a customer enquiry form to service your course dates. There will be a small cost attached to the website in the region of £40 per year.
  • Corporate advertising copy for teachers. This is for your use when advertising in the local press or even to use as flyers to give out to neighbours and friends.
  • Book One - Beginning Bridge. This is a two-colour, bound publication with 164 glossy pages. It gently takes the student from suit recognition to the competitive auction in approximately three ten-week terms of learning. This professional material gives the teacher a unique selling point when compared with other non affiliated teachers.
  • The course work books, normally £25 are offered at £20 to Partner Teachers. Students who subsequently become full Pay to Play members will be entitled to a £10 rebate on the book.
  • Book Two is also available at £20 as a second year course
  • The Partner Club may issue Master Points free from the pay to play charge for supervised play sessions of 12 to 16 boards. Students love collecting Master Points. They give an independent record of achievement from the governing body of the game very early on. It inspires confidence and a continuing sense of achievement. Because they are playing in their own protected environment they can achieve the early ranks quite quickly.
  • Free EBU membership to students for the first year of the course and a reduced fee of £10 for the second year. This means that the students are looked after by the EBU and the teacher. The student will receive a welcome pack with an 18 month diary, occasional copies of their own student magazine ‘The Ruffian’ and six copies a year of English Bridge. They will be affiliated though the teacher’s County Bridge Association who, in most cases, will also send them a welcome letter and newsletters.
  • Start up sets of bridge tables, cloths, bidding boxes and boards at an exclusively low price.
  • Stationary, which includes, name slips, travellers and personal score cards for the first year of the Partner Club at no cost.
  • An initial stock of decks of cards (24) at no cost.
  • Some teachers have access to duplimate machines which are owned by clubs or counties. All Bridge for All hands are available as duplimate files.
