Statement from the EBU Chairman After considering the volume of mostly helpful responses to our consultative proposals the Board has determined that after the normal AGM business is complete (the meeting is on October 3rd) the rest of that meeting should be dedicated to discussing the revised proposals (which will have taken into account the feedback from the consultation process) that will be released after the final county consultation meeting and prior to the AGM. This will then allow further consultation in the light of accepted modifications to the existing set of proposals before an Extraordinary General Meeting in February will be asked to vote on them.
At the same time, the Board would like to make an important deletion from the proposals currently before members. As a result of a large amount of constructive feedback, they have determined that the £5 one off “joining fee” will be removed entirely; the proposed additional charge for visiting non-EBU players is also to be dropped and that all club members would thus pay the same level of pay to play fee, that figure to be confirmed after further research.
