Albert Benjamin
Albert Benjamin passed away in Glasgow in January 2006.
A stalwart of Scottish Bridge for many years and a huge personality in his 'playing' years - Albert devised Benjaminised Acol in the 1950's, as a tool to combat the US Bridge Team's weak 2 system that was wreaking havoc in International Competitions.
His contribution to world-wide Bridge is long-lasting as are the many stories about Albert himself. You don't have to be Scottish to play 'Benji'
