Raymond loved to dress to suit the big occasions. As web editor, I will allow myself one short trip down memory lane, when Raymond turned up, as BBL President, at Peebles for the Gold Cup Finals. He had flown up and had made the mistake of packing a bottle of "something nice" in his case - which had exploded and soaked into some very fetching, very bright red, socks packed nearby ... and had thus dyed all his dress shirts a not-so-fetching, very patchy and completely indelible pink. As BBL Secretary I was dispatched hastily to the local shops where fortunately I managed to replace said shirts with some lovely clean, white new ones! Naturally, I never allowed him to forget the incident.

and in the picture on the right, Raymond was obviously giving very very careful consideration to the next card to be played - or perhaps watching to see what his partner played !

Jamaica 87I was very fortunate to go to Jamaica in 1987 to support the British Open Team in their bid to win the Bermuda Bowl. They did brilliantly, winning the Silver Medal, and the Victory Banquet was magnificent and enjoyable. This picture of them receiving their medals shows the team - with Robert Sheehan inverting the silver cup awarded to the runners-up over Raymond's head!

Raymond searching I suspect Raymond had mislaid his team in this picture! I think it is from one of the Junior events where he so successfully captained the British team, but if anyone can enlighten me I would be grateful !
