James is 23 and, having graduated from the University of Oxford in 2007 with a first class degree in Mathematics, is currently seeking full-time employment. 

He has been playing bridge since the age of fifteen and has been a regular at EBU junior events for the past few years. 

James lives in Gloucestershire and regularly represents the county in the Porter and Markham midland inter-county leagues.  During his first year at university he met Ian Angus and they have been playing together ever since, with some notable successes while representing the University of Oxford, particularly in the Portland Bowl inter-university knockout cup which they won in 2007 and were runners-up in 2005.  They have also played together in a large number of EBU events with reasonable success. 

Aside from bridge, James’ other interests include reading, playing board games and skiing.
