biography
Simon Cope, 29 years old, full time bridge professional from London. Having represented England several times at Junior level, including a Junior Eurpopeans in Italy in 2007, he has since combined playing with several roles as NPC and coach of various teams, and at different times has captained U20s, U25s, Ladies and Open teams.
Whilst he has enjoyed these roles, he harbours ambitions to play himself at open level at some point in the future. He loves playing, especially tournaments abroad with friends, and his best results have been winning the Brighton Swiss Pairs in 2008 in a first time partnership with John Atthey, and winning silver in the strong Icelandair Teams in 2009 (The event was won by the Swedish Open Team).
His proudest moment, however, was undoubtedly being part of the Open Team which won a silver medal in Beijing in 2008, where he was coach. Away from the bridge table, he enjoys travelling, watching sport and nights out with friends.
