The Schapiro Spring Foursomes

We are delighted to announce that, from the year 2004 onwards, this event will be sponsored. It will now be formally known as 'The Schapiro Spring Foursomes', and will have a brand new trophy allocated to it - 'The Schapiro Trophy'.

The prize fund will be, at least, doubled from what would otherwise be the norm. The exact fund still depends on the overall entry, but based on an entry of about 56 teams it would be:

Winners: £2,000 per team
Runners Up: £1,000 per team
3 rd /4 th place: £500 per team
Punchbowl winners: £500 per team
Hamilton Cup winners: £500 per team

A further development is that, with effect from 2004, pre-duplicated boards will be used in all matches, with hand records being available at the end of the session. We are sure that you will join us in expressing our gratitude to Mrs Helen Schapiro in supporting this most prestigious event in this way, and in donating a trophy in the name of her husband, the late, and truly great, Boris Schapiro.
