Extract from the White Book: Section 171 Level 5 Permitted Conventions [C3+L4] 171

This is one example of Level 5 permitted conventions, which at time of writing was used in the Spring Foursomes.

C3+L4 means that this is WBF/EBL Category 3 plus EBU Level 4.

The term Level 5 will disappear during the term of this White book and not be replaced.

171.1 Definitions
Average Hand	a hand containing 10 high card points (Milton Work) with no distributional values
Weak	high card strength below that of an average hand
Strong	high card strength a king or more greater than that of an average hand
Natural	a call or play that is not a convention (as defined in the Laws)
Length	three cards or more
Shortage	two cards or less
