The EBU Master Point Handbook is now available to read below, and is effective from 1 April 2010. We have also included a set of summary pages to show the main changes.
A new Master Point & Licensing Handbook is required for several reasons
- The regulations need to take account of the introduction of pay-to-play.
- Masterpoints and Licensing are so inter-connected that it seems appropriate to combine the Master Point Handbook and the Licensing Handbook into one document.
- The last update to the MP Handbook was 1998 and to the Licensing Handbook 1994. Significant time has passed and some changes are required. Over the period various, mostly minor errors, have been identified and need correcting.
- It is time to move to an online version.
In summary, it is not a set of fundamental changes, more a tidying up exercise.
