EBU Events suitable for Club Players
by Peter Jordan and Matt Betts

The EBU organises many different competitions and tournaments for its members at all levels. The following are among those which are perhaps more suitable for club players who would like to try their skill in a national event without travelling too far. You may wish to bring them to your club membersÂ’ attention.

Masters Pairs and Ranked Masters

The Masters Pairs event is particularly suitable for less experienced players who might enjoy a larger tournament. They will not be competing against anyone ranked Tournament Master or above i.e. entry is open only to players of Master rank or below. The event has traditionally been held as part of the Ranked Masters weekend, but New This Year the Masters Pairs will be a one-day event on Sunday 4 March 2012 (not March 3 as in the EBU Diary). Higher ranks are invited to take part in the other two-day Ranked Masters events 3-4 March 2012.

There is a choice of five venues:-
