by Andrew Petrie

New Events Targetted at Club Players

1. The new National Stratified Simultaneous Pairs will take place during a week in early March 2011. The key features of this competition are:

2. David Jones of Hilton Bridge Weekends renown has agreed to organise a number of EBU Improver Weekends in season 2010/11. These are aimed specifically at club players and will be shown in the next annual diary.

3. As soon as possible after September 2010, clubs will be able to stratify their MP awards in a similar fashion to that widely undertaken in US clubs.

Masterpoints and Licences

Masterpoints and Licences

A new Masterpoint and Licensing Handbook will be published online from mid-March to take effect on 1 April 2010.

Also from that date a revised framework of promotion awards will come into operation (based around 4 landmark ranks), together with a revised structure of annual prizes and awards.

Further details of these changes will be the subject of a future article in Tournament Focus.
