Simultaneous Pairs Events

There are just two more Sim Pairs events left this year.

EBED Sim Pairs – 5th to 9th September
British Autumn Sim Pairs – 3rd to 6th October

The EBED Sim Pairs is a chance for those clubs which meet on a Friday to take part.

As in recent years, there will be a prize draw for the clubs which hold a heat, and for the winners of each heat.

To be in with a chance of winning, all your club needs to do is hold a heat of one of these events. You will be entered in the draw every time you hold a heat, and if the heat is well attended you will receive additional entries.

The pair at the club who achieve the highest national score will go in to an additional prize draw. The first prize in each draw is £1000. You can read more about the prizes here.

But to win you have to take part.

If that is not enough of an incentive, then hopefully you will want to take part in the EBED Sim Pairs to support the work which the charity is doing. All the proceeds from those events go towards the charity’s projects relating to the social and health benefits linked to playing bridge, including combatting social isolation and cognitive decline.

As you will know, past of this work involves a survey in to the benefits of playing bridge, which in itself will produce important data which will support future work in developing opportunities and exposure for bridge, but it is also hoped that this may be the first step in some more in depth scientific research. But this requires significant financial investment, so we are hopeful that clubs and members will be willing to take part in the EBED Sim and contribute to its work.
