Youth bridge events in spring 2017


There are lots of upcoming youth events, so please pass this information on to any junior members of your club, or to the relatives of any current – or potential – younger players.

Young Bridge Challenge

Loughborough, 4th March

A one-day bridge event for school-age players. It is free to enter and is a fun day of bridge for all experience levels.

  • Schools Cup for teams of four players all from the same school.
  • Swiss Teams for teams of four players from bridge clubs, schools or mixed teams from more than one school.
  • Minibridge Pairs for players of school age who are just learning the game.
  • Short pairs duplicate for accompanying adults.

Junior Bridge Camp

Cheltenham, 8 – 9 April

Following their successful event in September, junior coordinators in Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire are holding another residential event in Cheltenham. It is aimed at all levels and ages, from beginners to junior experts, and includes tuition, coaching and play, along with other games and social activities.

Under 21 Championship Pairs

Part of the EBU Easter Congress in London, 15th April

A championship pairs event for those aged under 21 on 1st January 2017 (so born more recently than 1st January 1996). The event is free to enter, but entries should be made in advance (ideally by 31st March) to the Competitions Department.

Participants also have the opportunity for free entry into the Swiss Teams on Sunday 16th, and half price entry to the Swiss Pairs on Monday 17th.
