Jeremy Dhondy becomes new EBU Chairman

The Annual General Meeting of the English Bridge Union took place yesterday (Wednesday October 2nd) in London. The election results were announced at 3.00 p.m. and they were as follows:-

Board

Three candidates were nominated and agreed to stand. As such, there was no need for an election for the eight positions available.

Officers

One candidate for each of the positions of Chairman & Vice-Chairman were nominated and agreed to stand, so no elections required.

Jeremy Dhondy – Chairman (newly elected)
Ian Payn – Vice-Chairman (newly elected)
Andrew Petrie – Treasurer

Laws & Ethics Committee

Five nominations were received, for four vacancies. The top three persons duly elected will serve for a three year term of office expiring in 2016 the fourth for two years expiring in 2015.

Selection Committee

Two nominations were received for the two vacancies therefore no election was required, serving a three year term of office expiring in 2016.
