Important changes to EBU website; EBED website launched

Following the establishment of English Bridge Education & Development, the charity has been working hard to create a new website which will support its efforts to promote bridge learning and teaching, as well as providing news and details for the charity's major projects and activities.

You can now visit their website www.ebedcio.org.uk which will, going forward, be the main reference point for most of the activities previously undertaken by the EBU's Education Department. This includes information for those wanting to take up bridge or improve their game, and details on Bridge for All Teachers Courses and Tournament Directing Courses. The EBED site will also house information on the charity's events such as the Junior Teach-in, Schools Cup and the Education Simultaneous Pairs.

The EBU will continue to have a strong commitment both to youth bridge & bridge education and is committed to working closely with EBED at club, county and national level. The launch of the EBED website will allow the EBU webpages to be tailored in order to focus on the activities it is undertaking in its efforts to grow duplicate bridge at all levels. Some content on the EBU site will therefore be modified, phased out or shared with the new EBED website.

Simon Barb, Education & Development Manager for the English Bridge Education & Development charity, said, "We have tried to create a bright and exciting feel for this new EBED website and have created much new material to attract and involve as wide an audience as possible. At the same time, we hope that the pages are easy to navigate and will become the first port of call for anyone looking to learn more about bridge education and how we can all work to grow the game."
