Autumn Congress

Wokefield Park, Reading, RG7 3AE, 20th - 22nd October 2017

The qualifier for the Two Star Pairs will take place on Friday in the form of a Swiss Pairs with short matches, scored by matchpoints (not VPs) and with Green Point awards for matches won. From this the top 20 pairs will qualify for the Two Stars Pairs and the next twenty for the Satellite pairs. Anyone wishing to play only on the Friday may do so.

Those who don’t qualify for the main finals, and those who choose not to play on the Friday and play only on Saturday, will play in a more traditional style of Swiss Pairs on the Saturday, with 9 x 6-board rounds scored by VPs, once again with Green Point awards for matches won.

The Two Star Pairs is also the first event in this year’s Championship Series, in which points will be earned towards the Player of the Year Championship.

We also have our 2-session multiple teams event on the Sunday for the Eastbourne Bowl (Premier) and the Burlington Cup (Secondary). All non-qualifiers play in the Sussex Cup.

Really Easy Afternoon.
2pm start

A relaxed duplicate pairs event for those with less experience.
This event is aimed at those with no experience of green-point events, and such players are probably below the rank of Master and lower than a Jack on the NGS. It is intended as an introduction to 'congress bridge'.
The results will be stratified based on NGS grading with prizes for the overall winners, and Blue Points awarded based on the stratified results.

The event will be scored across all participating venues.

Other venues will be added when they are known.

The event at each venue is open to all - EBU members and non-members alike. We may be able to accommodate individual players at the venue, so please contact us and we will try to arrange a partner.
