Denis Murphy & Pearl Murphy (both Yorkshire) have won the Portland Pairs, the EBU's mixed pairs championship which took place on Sunday 20th March. 360 pairs took part, playing at fifteen venues around England and Wales, with the event scored across all locations.
Playing at the Sheffield heat, Denis and Pearl achieved 62.94% when scored nationally. This put them just over one per cent ahead of Ian Walsh & Alison Pollok (both Devon), who played at Exeter, with John Moore & Pauline Serby (both Hants & IOW), who played at Wallingford, just behind them in third.
