The British Rail A team have won the NICKO Plate, defeating Chichester A in the final by 81 IMPs.
The final, held at Basingstoke BC, was closely contested in the first half, but in the second half the British Rail team pulled away to win by a convincing margin. The winning finalists are pictured - left to right: Roger Mallinson, Peter Kelly, Andy Wells & Alex Hogg (Sheila Kelly and Cedric Cockcroft played in some of the earlier rounds). The Chichester team during the competition was David Telfer, Peter Burns, Michael Campbell, Gerry Hegan, Yves Lebrec & Peter McLarens.
