The English Bridge Union is looking for a Competitions Administrator. The successful applicant will preferably start at the beginning of March 2017 to allow a handover period with the current administrator, Peter Jordan.
The post entails working full-time in Aylesbury as part of the small team in the Competitions Department of the EBU, answering members’ queries, taking entries, and overseeing the annual calendar of events, including liaising with counties. The successful applicant will also be responsible for the management of the EBU’s Knockout Competitions and will act as the Secretary to the EBU Tournaments Panel.
Some out-of-hours work would be required, in particular as Congress Manager of the annual Summer Meeting, and in time this will also extend to helping run our overseas congresses. Good organisational and planning skills are essential, including being IT-literate, as well as having the ability to get on with a wide variety of people.
A knowledge of the EBU and its competitions calendar would be an advantage, but are not completely essential.
