Andy Hughes & Steve Preston (both Hants & IOW) have won the National Pairs at the final held in Daventry on 8th & 9th April.
Andy & Steve finished atop the fifty pairs who qualified from the Regional Finals, with a score of 59.46%. Julian Mitchell & Peter Clinch (both Sussex) were second with 57.38%, pipping Steve Root & Lynton Stock (both Middlesex) who scored 57.27%.
It was Andy & Steve's second victory in the competition, having also won in 1988. The National Pairs is part of the Championship Series with points earned towards the Player of the Year Competition. Andy & Steve are new entries in joint-22nd position in this year's competition.
