Freddie Illingworth

Freddie Illingworth was born in 1995 and comes from Oxford where he lives with his parents and sister. He lives just round the corner from Oxford Bridge Club, which proves useful at junior training weekends when he is forced to have most of the squad stay with him. He made his England debut in December 2011 and has since represented them in a World Championships and two Channel trophies, winning recently in London. He is also one of the holders of the Peggy Bayer winning it last year in Dublin. His hobbies include competing in maths Olympiads for England, the only thing he could find geekier than playing bridge for England.

Last updated: December 2013

Since writing this biography Freddie's main achievements have been appearing for the England Under 21 in the European Championships in 2015 and the Under 26 team in the World Championships in 2016. He has also played in the Channel Trophy, Peggy Bayer and Junior Camrose events (always in the winning team in the latter events), and also won the Portland Bowl multiple times.
