Malcolm Carey

Malcolm was a founding member of the Suffolk Contract Bridge Association in 1979. He has been on the Executive Committee ever since then, and is now completing 42 years’ service to the county. Between 1979 and 1987 he held various posts, at various times being the county’s General Secretary and then the county’s Competitions Secretary. For 32 years, from 1987 to 2019, Malcolm was Suffolk’s Chief Tournament Director, and in that role directed literally hundreds of SCBA events. He is currently one of Suffolk’s two EBU shareholders, and has been for many years. He was Suffolk’s Chairman from 1993 to 1994. Malcolm has been a driving force behind the development of Suffolk bridge from the county’s foundation in 1979 through to the present day and the County owes him a huge debt of gratitude for his many years of dedicated service.
