The Schapiro Spring Foursome results

These seem very complicated, and a word of explanation may help to clarify the various sets of results in this section.

The basic idea behind this event is that it is a Double Elimination Knockout, in principle with head-to-head matches throughout, but in practice (because there were the wrong number of teams), with a few groups of three in the first couple of rounds and with a repechage.

Once teams have lost one match, they go into a pool of 'once defeated teams'. If they lose a match in this, they are out of the main tournament.

The final stages are contested by one undefeated team & six once-defeated teams.

The Punch Bowl is the 'Plate' event, for teams eliminated (i.e. twice defeated) after three or four rounds. (The Round Robin for those teams eliminated after three rounds, those out after four going straight into the knockout)

The Hamilton Cup is for any team that is no longer in either event on Monday! (+ anybody who just wants to come for the day - there was one such team this year).
