The Peggy Bayer Trophy - presented by the widow of EBU Board member Palmer Bayer - was played for the first time in 1990, alongside the Junior Camrose. Only England and Scotland entered teams in the first year and it was for players under 19 years of age. The age limit became under 20 in the following year and has remained so ever since. The event is always played in tandem with the Junior Camrose. Northern Ireland and Wales soon joined in, and the Republic of Ireland first entered in 1999.
