  • They enter in advance (Any players turning up at an event without due notification will not be entitled to a half price entry)

This concession applies to English Juniors only except for the Brighton  Congress where it is extended to Juniors from any of the Home Unions. BGB also offer half price entry to the Gold Cup and Silver Plate.

Entries to events for Junior Squad Members

The EBU board have AGREED that some entry fees be waived for junior squad players. To qualify:

  • They must be squad members (A squad member is defined as someone who is registered with a squad manager and has signed a contract of good behaviour,  a copy of which is lodged at EBU HQ, which is still valid)
  • Their entry must be approved by a squad manager
  • Their entry must be done in advance (Any players turning up at an event without due notification and recommendation will not be entitled to a free entry).
  • They must play in partnership with another squad member (it is acceptable for team mates not to be squad members)
  • Squad managers may play with a squad manager that is free to include.

The list of events which currently qualify for free entry are:

  • Premier League & Ladies Trials (free entries will be sanctioned, or otherwise, by the selection committee)
  • Crockford’s Cup
  • National Swiss Teams Congress
  • Autumn Congress
  • Schapiro Spring 4’s
  • Spring Bank Holiday Congress
  • National Women’s Teams
  • Harrogate Spring Congress

  • Riviera Congress
  • Year End (London & North)

Age Limit

For those in the U25 and Girl’s squad their right to free entries ends when they are in the calendar year of their 25th birthday and the team has been selected for the European Championship or by the end of June if it is not a European Year.

If a player is selected or is a reserve for a European team then the right to free entries exists until the conclusion of the European Championship but not thereafter if they are then too old for the squad.

The right to free entries ceases if a player is in breach of his or her contract. For information, the concession applies to the entry fee ONLY. No request for assistance with travel or accommodation will be entertained.
