EBU Young Player of the Year Award
The award was first made in 1994, and in 1995 a Young Pair of the Year title was awarded.
The awards for 2006 were announced at the Young Bridge Challenge on March 17th 2007

The conditions applying to the award are:

  bullet point The player(s) must be under 21 on 1st January of the year in question
  bullet point Only performances in the calendar year of the award will be considered
  bullet point All performances in Junior events, outstanding performance in other events, and general demeanour at the table will be taken into account

The Alec Salisbury Award

This is awarded to an adult who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of Youth Bridge by a school teacher.


For 2006 the award goes to Dean Bunnell (Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield)

The Tom BradleyAward

This new award to be made for the first time in 2006, in memory of the late Treasurer of the EBU will be awarded to an adult who have made an outstanding contribution to the development of Youth Bridge by a non-school teacher
The 2007 recipient is Dave Bessant - Isle of Wight
