With many clubs returning to face-to-face bridge in clubs and halls across the country, now is a great time to invite new members to your club. Tunbridge Wells Bridge Club are also taking advantage of their town's Heritage Day to coincide with the Tunbridge Wells Open Day, on Saturday 10th September.

The Summer Meeting took place last weekend in Eastbourne and was widely enjoyed by all.
As well as being the widow of Alan Hiron, Maureen was a well-known bridge player in her own right, and succeeded Alan as bridge correspondent for the Independent. Long resident in Spain, Maureen enjoyed great success at creating games. Perhaps the best known were Continuo and Quizwrangle. She also set questions for early seasons of the popular TV quiz show Fifteen to One, and devised puzzles for The Krypton Factor. At the bridge table she was on the winning England team in both the 1974 and 1975 Lady Milne Trophy and represented Great Britain in the European Championships of 1974.
This event started in 2918 and the prize money is augmented by a donation from the late Patrick Jourdain.

In a rash moment I promised a list of restaurants for you to book your post bridge meals. N.B., they are in order of mention in my various blogs, and I haven’t eaten at all of them.
