Joseph Hedges

I was born in 2010, in Surrey and I live with my parents, brother and sister in Weybridge.

I was first introduced to bridge in May 2023 when I went to a bridge camp in Shropshire. Soon after, I was invited to join the U16 England squad under the helm of Alan Shillitoe.

Since then, I have loved the game and have made many new friends across all nationalities and ages, both of which have been aided by my grandmother, who is also a bridge player, as well as many other people who have supported me in my bridge journey

Sam Akayan

I'm Sam and I live in London. I was born in November 2010, and I started playing bridge in 2021, when I was 10.

I started properly learning how to play bridge at the Habs bridge club before I was invited to train with the U16 England team.

I grasped this opportunity to learn all about how to play bridge and soon managed to participate in my first international competition, the U16 European Bridge Championships. I had a lot of fun playing against different players from different countries and learning how to counter their systems.

Nettleham Bridge Club Charity Day

One of the first clubs to sign up to join the Bridge - It's a Big Deal! Festival was Nettleham Bridge Club in Lincolnshire. Nettleham Bridge Club held a sellout charity day, which attracted a series of articles in the village magazine and donations from local firms. Another Lincolnshire club, Falconer Bridge Club held a very well attended coffee morning on Friday. Below is a round up of the events:
