The Club held a party to celebrate its 70th Anniversary on 10th September 2025.

Members will be sad to learn that Giles Foster passed away on Monday 23rd February 2015 at about 12 noon in the Bradford Royal infirmary, having been in hospital since Thursday the 12th.

Giles was born and brought up in Maidstone in Kent and grew up with a love of music, playing both the cello and piano. He moved to university in Leeds in the late fifties to study Maths and also began playing bridge. He was quickly taken under the wing of the – then international – Rita Oldroyd and she helped him to develop his game.

Hopefully in the right order these are the steps we took in Suffolk. Although there are differing ways to go about organising these events, this is the process we followed and it worked well for us. It’s a long list but essentially all just common sense so don’t be put off!
