English internationals Simon Cope and Thomas Paske have won the prestigious Kaplan Blue Ribbon Pairs, a three-day event run by the American Contract Bridge League and currently being held in Las Vegas, USA.
The pair were leading after the semifinal sessions and scored 62.10% in the first final session to maintain that lead by a board and a half going into the final session.
Interviewed after the event, “It’s great to win," said Simon, who was “pretty tired from seven days of pairs games. And it’s good to win with him,” referring to Tom. The two play with each other at the NABCs but not in the U.K. “I’m already looking forward to the Riesinger,” said Paske.
