We are sad to announce the death of former English International David Kendrick.
Born and raised in London, David learned to play bridge at school, but his love of bridge really took off during his time at Southampton University.
He represented England at Junior, Open and Senior level and won many of the UK major bridge competitions as well as the prestigious, Swedish chairman’s cup in 2014.
He completed a rare 'trifecta', having won the Junior Camrose (in 1972 and 1974), Camrose (in 1999) and Senior Camrose - the Teltscher Trophy (in 2017). In 2019, he won a Silver Medal in the Seniors at the 44th World Bridge Teams Championships. Most recently, David represented England at the Teltscher Trophy in 2024.
He will be remembered for his delight at doing things his own unique way, for his kindness to his friends and for his wonderful, witty sense of humour.
We extend our condolences to David's family and friends.
