
The 16th European Youth Pairs Championships will be held at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Salsomaggiore Terme, Italy, from 18th to 23rd of July 2025.
This year, the EBL Championships will follow the official WBF Youth Team Championships which will be held from 12th to 17th July at the same location. The event is named as European Youth Transnational Pairs Championship, open to all players worldwide within the age limit of the Under 31 category (born on or after 1 January 1995).

- Mixed pairs competition 10.00 - Saturday 19th July
- Mixed pairs competition 10.00 - Sunday 20th July
- Registration U31/U26/U26W/U21/U16 10.00-19.00 - Sunday 20th July
- Mixed pairs Prize-Giving/Opening Ceremony 20:30 - Sunday 20th July
- Pairs qualification sessions 10.00 - Monday 21st July
- Pairs qualification sessions 10.00 - Tuesday 22nd July
- Pairs final sessions 10.00 - Wednesday 23rd July
- President’s Cup 10.00 - Wednesday 23rd July
- Prize-Giving & Closing Ceremony 19.00 - Wednesday 23rd July
Format:
- The event is split in six series: Mixed, U31, U26 Open, U26 Women, U21 and U16
- The first two days a Mixed pairs Championship will be held
- The EBL open pairs championship will be organised over the next three days
- The exact format will be decided according to the registration in each category
Eligibility:
- All championships are open to all players from all over the world within the respective age limit.
- Transnational pairs (two players from different country) will be permitted to participate in all championships.
Right of entry:
- Bridge players (registered members of WBF NBOs), in good standing with their Federation and born:
- U31 Series - Born on or after 1st January 1995
- U26 Open & U26 Women Series - Born on or after 1st January 2000
- U21 Series – Born on or after 1st January 2005
- U16 Series – Born on or after 1st January 2010
- are entitled to participate. There will will be no restrictions on numbers of entries per NBO
- Mixed pairs: they will be playing all together, irrespective of the age category, EBL medals being awarded according to the overall ranking
- NBOs must have paid the entry fee and be up to date with the payment of dues (including 2025 dues) to the EBL/WBF for their players to be allowed to participate in the Championships. The entry fees for the Transnational pairs may be paid by the NBOs or the players themselves. In any case participants must be nominated by their NBO and all such nominations are subject to
authorisation by the EBL Credentials Committee.
Registration of Pairs:
- All entries to the Championships should be submitted electronically, via the EBL website. Entries close 8th July 2025.
Entry Fees:
- Mixed Pairs = €150 (€75 for a pair consisting of one U16 + one other, and no fee for two U16)
- U31, U26, U26Women & U21 Pairs = €200
- U16 and the President’s Cup = no entry fee
