Would you like to promote women’s bridge? Do you think we should make more accommodations for neurodiversity in our games? Do we do enough to help players with physical disabilities? If you care about any of these or other related issues, please have your say - we need you!
All of these are questions that relate to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). Equity in this context means making adjustments such that we have a level playing field and identity is not predictive of outcome. Diversity and inclusion mean welcoming all players with different backgrounds and needs to the game so that everyone feels that they belong.
Most of you reading this will be aware that these questions are being addressed more explicitly nowadays by most organisations, including companies, the public sector, charities, and sporting associations. The EBU would like to invite any members interested in helping us address these issues in bridge to have your say, in the true spirit of EDI. All ideas welcome.
Contact Debbie Sandford at debbie@ebu.co.uk to get involved. We really do need you, so please get in touch today.
Wishing you very happy holidays - Debbie
