First Published Paper from BAMSA

‘Bridge: A MindSport for All’ (BAMSA) have published their first report on bridge identities in the academic journal: International Review for the Sociology of Sport.

BAMSA is the new project name for the work by the team at ‘Keep Bridge Alive’. It is a sociological research project that explores interactions within the mind-sport, well-being, transferable life skills, mental health and social connections.

With the research appearing in a sport journal, BAMSA hope this will help to raise the profile of bridge as a mind-sport.

BAMSA have also provided two accessibly written summaries of the report. In particular, the practical summary indicates the evidence that has been documented and the implications of the findings.

BAMSA will be hosting the Bridging Academia, Policy and Practice Conference, on Wednesday 30 June & Thursday 1st July 2021 (virtually or in person – tbc). If you would like to present a paper on any bridge-related topic, please contact bamsa@stir.ac.uk
