Get Involved in the Bridge - It's a Big Deal! Festival

We currently have nearly 80 events planned for our Bridge - It’s a Big Deal! (BIABD) a Festival of Bridge, taking place in 57 unique clubs and counties

Map of events so farThe aim of the festival is to raise the profile of bridge nationally and locally and offers clubs the opportunity to not only enjoy a party but to invite others to the party in what could be the biggest open day ever. From 9th - 15th September 2024, clubs, counties, and players across the UK have a unique opportunity to showcase the fun and benefits of bridge by participating in Bridge - It’s a Big Deal! (BIABD) a Festival of Bridge.

If your club is not yet listed, please email festival@ebu.co.uk with the name of your club, the name/type of event you are hosting and the date it is being held, we will then add your details to our lists.

Some clubs have already started their events and fundraising, thanks to Cross in Hand Bridge Club, Caterham Bridge Club and members of Bramhall & Cheadle Hulme Bridge Centre for supporting the EBU donations page for Cancer Research UK.

Bridge clubs, whether large or small, are invited to take part in this initiative. The variety of events that can be organized is vast, ensuring that there is something for everyone. An open day at your bridge club can attract new members and introduce the game to a broader audience. Consider a sponsored bridge marathon to challenge seasoned players and create a buzz in the community. Such events not only provide enjoyment but also foster a sense of unity and purpose.

These materials will provide guidance on organizing successful events, promoting them within your community, and maximizing the impact of your efforts. From posters and flyers to social media templates, you’ll have everything you need to spread the word and generate excitement. Make sure you tell us about your event so we can add it to the list and also the map of events,

Supporting Cancer Research UK through BIABD adds an extra layer of significance to your event. Cancer touches many lives, and the efforts of bridge players across the country can contribute to ground-breaking research and support for those affected by the disease. Every game played, every event held, and every pound raised brings us one step closer to a world where cancer is defeated.
