The Silver Plate, the consolation event for the Gold Cup, has been won by the Mitchell team.
The Silver Plate is for English or Welsh teams defeated in either the first or second round of the Gold Cup. Scotland has a separate consolation event, the winners of which drop into the Silver Plate at the quarter-final stage.
The 2022 Silver Plate involved 52 teams. The final, played yesterday was between the Mitchell team and Kemp team. The Mitchell team of Peter Clinch, Julian Mitchell, Ian Lancaster, Andrew Southwell, Christine Jepson & Neil Watts beat the Kemp team of Christopher Kemp, Charlie Bucknell, Oliver Powell & Stephen Kennedy 162 - 88 IMPs.
