The latest in the new Bid72 video series, Pros and Cons, is now available to view. In episode twenty-four, titled "The Bomhof Benefit", Sixty years ago Jan Willem Bomhof, a Dutch expert bridge player, introduced a by then new piece of bridge theory: The Bomhof Compensation [Benefit]. The series of short videos looks at bidding dilemmas with championship players. You can subscribe to the free series on the Bid72 YouTube channel.
In the Bid72 EBU Bidding Contest, there are different ranked groups (A, B, C and New). The aim of the bidding contest is to bid with your own chosen partner and your preferred system, using the app bid72.
Following the June monthly score, the winning pair at the top of group A were DavidS-LisS, in second place were Saf-JohnMe and in third place were BillH-FionaL.
In group B, the top six places were MikeR-ch5295 (1st), Alastair-Patr1cks (2nd), Et1965-LucyN (3rd), FrancoisP-NicolasL (4th), AnneMc-BarbaraI (5th) and DaveA-JillA (6th), who are all promoted to group A.
First time players compete in the New group. Each month there is a relegation or promotion of players, during this time new players are also placed into one of the three groups depending on their score.
