The Northern Midweek Congress has now concluded, with Harrogate the venue for three days of weekday bridge.
The Swiss Teams competition was won be the team of Martin Taylor, Justin Hackett, James Thrower & John Troiano (pictured). They finished with 86 VPs from six matches, 3 VPs ahead of Maureen Parsons, Debbie Burton, Brian Chamberlain & Jonathan Harrison. The team of Julian Gibson, Denis Murphy, Kathy Talbot & Denis Talbot finished in third place with 79 VPs.
The Swiss Pairs was won by Catherine Draper & Andrew Petrie (picture) who finished with 94 VPs, ahead of Stuart Davies & George Bak in second place, who finished with 87 VPs. Julian Gibson & Denis Murphy completed the podium with 83 VPs.
Denis Talbot & Kathy Talbot won the Open Pairs with a score of 62.38%. In second place were Val Gibson & Pearl Murphy with a score of 61.03%. In joint third place were Oliver Cowan & Trupti Shah and Bob Marchbank & Kevin Higgins with 58.70%.
The Jack High Swiss Pairs was won by Lis Jackson & Rosemary Page (picture) who finished with 81 VPs from five matches. In second place were Craig Colton & Adam Jozefczak who finished with 79 VPs, and in third place were Mark Hatfield & James Scarr with 70 VPs.
