Steve Raine & Matt Brown (pictured) have won the Great Northern Swiss Pairs which took place this weekend, in Leeds.
Steve & Matt, also won the event in 2023. They finished on 166 VPs, ahead of Robin Jepson & Alan Brosgill on 159 VPs. In joint third place with 157 VPs were Keith Joules & David Beck and Liam Fegarty & Jamie Fegarty.
In the B stratification, the winners were Stephen Berson & Georgina Wooler and in the C stratification the winners were Conor Murphy & Imogen Davies.
The 9-High Pairs was won by Susan Clarkson & Pauline Stout (picture) with 78 VPs from five matches. In second place were Bertie Mittra & Joyd Mittra with 76 VPs and in third place were Katherine Libbert & Jon Crook with a final score of 63 VPs.
The results from the Great Northern Swiss Pairs also form part of the Pairs Player of the Year Championship. Claire Robinson currently tops the Pairs Players of the Year leader board with 45 points, after finishing in top positions in both the Harold Poster Pairs at the Summer Meeting and Great Northern Swiss Pairs. The next event will be the Swiss Pairs at the Year End Congress, London.
